Petition
Support action for a safe-climate future
We, the undersigned, ask that all parties, at all levels of government, take concerted action to safeguard our safety, and the safety of our children, by legislating changes to bring about a low carbon economy in Australia. The aim should be for a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of 20% by 2015 and at least 50% by 2020 (based on year 2000 levels). These actions should include a mandatory carbon offset which is fair for all and sends the correct price signal to the market.
This MUST be done within the next term of your government to stand any chance of avoiding dangerous Climate Change. In order to be leaders, our governments must lead and lead by example.
The time for words has passed, NOW is the time for action.

Can you also sign the petition from the Australian Youth Climate Coalition (A.Y.C.C.) insisting that
1. The Clean Energy Finance Corporation, who is managing the money from the carbon tax in Australia, uses the money to invest only in large base-load solar-thermal plants (as demonstrated in the Beyond Zero Emissions Zero Carbon Australia Stationary Energy Plan) to power Australian cities NOT green-house-gas polluting coal seam gas.
2. that the amount of investment in renewable energy is increased
3. This investment happens as soon as possible www.aycc.org.au/repower
